RShalom House provides a quiet pastoral setting for a variety of retreat experiences. It is ideal Rfor an individual retreat or for churches or other organizations to present their own retreats for Rtheir members. Time commitments vary from one day to more than a week.
RShalom House is located in rural western Hanover County, Virginia. Situated on 100 acres, it Ris 25 miles northwest of Richmond, Virginia.
RFacilities:
The grounds include a three-acre pond, ameditation path with Stations of the Cross, screened gazebo and many quiet places to sit.
- The two guest houses provide accommodations for 32 people. Each guest house has a central meeting space and small kitchenette.
- Shalom House has one single-bed, heated Hermitage.
- The renovated original farmhouse includes a 54-seat dining hall with fireplace, cathedral ceilings and a large deck overlooking the pond. There are two additional guest rooms in the farmhouse. All three buildings are air-conditioned and handicap accessible.

Serving both the spiritual and secular communities, the Dominican Retreat House is available for small conferences and business meetings, as well as self directed and group retreats. There is room to accommodate 80 individuals in its meeting space, 64 in the dining room and 40 in individual overnight rooms.

The Bed and Breakfast is located in historic Central Virginia, “Jefferson Country.” It is less than thirty minutes drive from many attractions, such as Monticello, Ash Lawn-Highlands, historic Charlottesville with the University of Virginia, the Shenandoah National Park, and the Blue Ridge Parkway. The Appalachian Trail and TransAmerica Route 76 Bike Trail are close by.
The Bed and Breakfast is a suite of two rooms with its own private entrance and private bath, a queen-sized bed in the bedroom, a queen-sized futon in the sitting room for extra guests, and a kitchenette.
Your hosts are David and Ginny Wayland. David is a retired Episcopal priest. Ginny recently retired as a librarian at the Crozet public library, so you can always count on the B&B having a good stock of books for relaxed reading.

Richmond Hill is an ecumenical Christian fellowship and residential community who serve as stewards of an urban retreat center within the setting of a monastery in historic Richmond, Virginia. Their mission is to advance God's healing through prayer, hospitality, racial reconciliation, and spiritual development. The residential community lives by a modern Benedictine rule, which is based around three common prayer times each day.
Richmond Hill offers retreats, workshops, and classes to revive and inform the spirituality, the ministry, and the urban life of metropolitan Richmond. They offer programs in Centering Prayer, spiritual guidance, Pastoral Care and Counseling, and Christian formation. Ministries include personal retreats and spiritual guidance, healing prayer, Bible study, and prayer services in the rhythm of Taizé.

The Well is a Christ-centered retreat facility open to people of all faiths, operated by the Catholic Diocese of Richmond, Virginia. The grounds occupy 23 acres in the farmland of Smithfield and include a spring-fed lake and Cosmic Walk for meditation.
