Casa Lalita is located in Puerto Morelos, a charming quiet fishing just south of Cancun and is easily accessible from the Cancun airport. With the white, coral sand beach of the Caribbean Sea it is easy to fall in love with this easy going, welcoming village.

The teaching space is a gracious, light filled room with terra cotta tile floors and a view of the Caribbean Sea. Its 975 square feet will hold up to 25 people, depending on the activity. Pleasant sea breezes move through its many windows, and there are ceiling fans to assure comfort. It is equipped with cushions, blankets, blocks and mats.
Casa Lalita was especially designed as a retreat center for groups wanting the opportunity to learn and enjoy an environment that is warm, sunny, exotic, and supportive of transformation.

Casa Lalita sleeps up to 14 people. The first floor has 6 sleeping rooms decorated simply with rugs from Oaxaca and small framed images of the area. They can be made up with 2 twin beds or a king. Tiled floors, hand-carved cedar doors, and ceiling fans compliment each room.
A larger sleeping room with a kitchenette and private balcony facing the sea is on the 3rd floor next to the teaching space and is perfect for the group leader.
The teaching space can hold more people than there are sleeping accommodations at Casa Lalita. For larger groups we assist you in finding housing in neighboring casas or hotels.

There are two courtyards with lush tropical gardens that have areas for visiting and corners for solitude. Tropical birds bring their colors and songs to the gardens, and hammocks invite you to spend a lazy afternoon.
The garden patios have tables and chairs, hammocks and loungers. The back courtyard has an outdoor kitchenette and eating area. The rooftop has a magnificent view of the sea.

Walking on the soft white sand beach of the Caribbean Sea, snorkeling in the world's second largest coral reef, bathing in the sun, or lounging away an afternoon in a hammock are a few of the many options for spending your days. Puerto Morelos is for people who delight in the swaying of palm trees, who find joy in the vibrant colour of tropical flowers and find value in exposure to another culture.

Additionally, our event coordinator will assist you with every aspect of planning your retreat and accommodating your needs during your stay. It is our pleasure to assist you in designing a week that can include catering, special events, tours, or any specific needs.

The Bay of Puerto Angel
The bay of Puerto Angel is small and a great place to take long swims. The temperature of the water is perfect. There are other beautiful beaches within walking distance that are good for day trips. The main activity is resting and relaxing!

| The Restaurant
We are open for breakfast and lunch from 7:30 AM to 3:00 PM. Meals are served at our family tables in our open air palapa dining area. Our food is made with organic vegetables grown for us by friends in the Oaxacan sierra. We make all of our own whole wheat bread, muffins, granola, and it is all delicious as well as good for you!

Rooms and Rates
We have twenty-two rooms of varying sizes and types: 12 rooms in the original guest house at the entrance of our canyon, six bungalows and four rooms in the "El Cielo" complex built up high with a gorgeous view of our bay. We are situated in a canyon on 5 acres of tropical forest, only 100 yards from the bay of Puerto Angel and our beach, Playa del Panteón that is named after the colorful town cemetery.

Group Information:
The tranquil fishing village of Puerto Angel here in southern Mexico on the Pacific coast of Oaxaca provides a wonderful environment for retreats and workshops in La Posada’s canyon sanctuary. The calm waters of the bay and the beauty of the open ocean beaches along our coastline are wonderful excursions that allow for nature to play a great part in the learning experience of any retreat or workshop our guest is involved in.
We host groups of 10 to 50 people at La Posada. The facilities available are a terrace for activities such as yoga or any type of body work, a private massage studio loft area, a meeting room for any kind of group gathering as well as other common areas for meetings under palapa (palm) roofs. Access to the 5 acres of quiet, tranquil grounds in which to disperse is essential for a perfect balance between being part of a group as well as having quiet niches in the canyon to retire to and meditate. Our meals are served in a family manner with everyone eating together at two long tables in our open-air dining area. The communal way in which La Posada has developed over the past 27 years lends itself to be a perfect place for groups to feel at home.

Location:
Puerto Angel is in the state of Oaxaca on the Pacific Coast. Direct flights on Mexicana Airlines from Mexico City to the airports of Huatulco or Puerto Escondido bring you to within a one hour taxi ride to La Posada. A Mexicana subsidiary, Aero Caribe, flies daily from Oaxaca city to either airport. |
