Do words help you find your way to the sacred? Poetry is one way words reveal the luminous light around and within us, connecting us more deeply to ourselves, one another and Earth. In this weekend retreat at Prairiewoods (120 East Boyson Road in Hiawatha), you are invited to join Prairiewoods’ new Artist in Residence, Carol Tyx, and other word lovers and let yourself be buoyed by the presence of poetry. There’s no need to be a poetry expert, only a willingness to see what poetry might open for you. Poems come in many shapes and sizes. See what fits you, what deepens your sense of wonder and connection to all beings. We’ll take it slow, with time to be playful and reflective as we try on poetry as spiritual practice. The cost of this weekend retreat is $230 and includes sessions, lodging and all meals. The commuter fee is $180 and includes sessions, Saturday lunch and dinner, and Sunday lunch.
