As yoga practitioners, we must remember the importance of slowing down and taking care of ourselves. We all need moments to rejuvenate so this retreat is designed to hold some sacred space to revive our hearts and spirit. The intention this weekend is to “Nurture Yourself with Yoga & Nature”. Plan to arrive Thursday so we can begin relaxing at the Sun Mountain Center. We will have an opening circle and practice some Yin Yoga to calm and settle us down after our travel in preparation for a good night’s rest. We will wake up Friday for a breakfast out in the garden overlooking a beautiful scenic view of the mountains. After some time to digest, we will meet to practice pranayama & devote a physical prayer of movement through yoga to energize us for the day. After a light lunch, we will visit the center’s sister location, Sun Water Spa, to soak in the hot springs with an option to either add another spa treatment, take the walk up the incline, or stroll the artsy streets of Manitou Springs. That evening, we will practice some Restorative Yoga to steep in gratitude of our experience. Saturday following breakfast and an active practice for awakening, we will travel a short way to hike Garden of the Gods. At Garden of the Gods, we will sit and meditate within the sanctuary setting before heading back for a fire ceremony & a dose of Yoga Nidra. On Sunday, we will meet for a balanced Yin/Yang Yoga practice and a closing puja.
