Blessed Trinity Shrine Retreat is a modern 40 bedroom facility nestled in 1,200 acres of beautiful woodlands with 12 miles of walking trails, ample space for solitude to commune with nature along wooded paths, and borders the Chattahoochee River. Located in East Alabama, just across the river from Columbus, GA in a town formerly known as Holy Trinity, AL, you will find a peaceful and quiet place to relax and rejuvenate. The Missionary Servants of the Most Blessed Trinity own and operate the facility and have a long history here. They began as a religious community in the early 1900's and the retreat center was built in 1965.
In addition to our own retreat programs, we are happy to host groups who provide their own programs. We welcome groups and individuals of all faiths.
Accommodations: Guests have private rooms with adjoining bath and access to a large chapel, meeting rooms, and a large dining room serving meals cafeteria-style. The retreat center also has a Director's Suite with private bath and meeting room, and a small, private accommodation just outside the main building with a queen bed, kitchenette and private bath.
Hermitage: A new Hermitage is available for those desiring greater solitude (rates vary). Tucked into the woods, you are close by but feel the quiet of being alone. The hermitage offers a single bed, kitchen, full bath, and sitting area.
Retreats: We sponsor about one program a month. Please see "Upcoming Retreats" at our web site. These are open to all interested persons. We also host groups who bring their program, or for whom we can help provide a program. Please call for more information on rates and available dates.
Directed and Private Retreats: Directed and Private Retreats are available and may be arranged on an individual basis by calling the Retreat House (334-855-4474) and making a reservation. On a Directed Retreat, the retreatant is led in a prayer experience by a director who meets with the retreatant daily to reflect and discern together the movement of the Spirit. In a Private Retreat, the retreatant spends time in prayer and reflection without the assistance of a director. You are most welcome to make arrangements for either type of retreat at a time of your own choosing.
