Naturebridge: National Parks as Classrooms

At NatureBridge, environmental education is at the heart of what we do. We are a nonprofit organization with a mission to connect youth to the wonder and science of the natural world, igniting self-discovery and inspiring stewardship of our planet. Each year, we provide hands-on environmental science programs to more than 600 schools and 30,000 students across our various national park locations. We are a proud partner of the National Park Service and operate in Yosemite National Park and the Golden Gate National Recreation Area in California; Olympic National Park in Washington; and Prince William Forest Park in Virginia.

National Parks as Classrooms

On a NatureBridge environmental education program, learning comes alive. Our programs take youth out of the classroom and into national parks where they spend multiple days immersed in nature, living and learning alongside their peers.

Led in small groups by our experienced educators, students engage in scientific principles firsthand, explore ecological concepts, collaborate with their classmates and apply their learnings in real-time, all while discovering the joy of the outdoors.

Cultivating Stewards

We strive to develop a generation of environmental stewards who have the knowledge, attitudes and skills to collaborate to protect and advocate for the natural world. Our multifaceted curriculum helps students understand how the environment works and how humans interact with nature. They are empowered to take action today for a better tomorrow. Now more than ever, our mission is critical.

Your Meeting Makes a Difference

Our Olympic and Golden Gate campuses are also home to beautiful conference and retreat spaces. When you choose to hold your meeting at NatureBridge you are making a difference. Revenue generated from meetings and retreats helps provide scholarships for school groups that would not otherwise be able to participate in our environmental education programs.
