How a retreat center in LA is reopening its doors after being damaged by storms

Retreat center at St. Joseph Abbey near Covington is resurrected: when storms swept through the North Shore two years ago, the nearby Bogue Falaya River overran its banks and flooded the abbey’s entire 1,200-acre campus, pushing water into the retreat center and 30 other buildings at the Benedictine monastery and seminary college.

Now, after being shuttered for about two years, the retreat center is once again welcoming guests.
