Colombiere is one of the best-kept secrets in Southeastern Michigan. Secluded, yet only a short drive from Flint, Detroit or Lansing off I-75, conference attendees avoid the distractions of the city and surround themselves with acres of towering pines, oaks and walking trails. Gardens and pathways are open invitations for quiet walks.
Currently we serve as a conference and retreat center with accommodations for day and overnight guests including appealing buffet style meals, spacious meeting rooms, an auditorium, gymnasium and other amenities. Although the facilities reflect the Jesuit influence, they are not limited to those of the Catholic faith.
The Conference Center hosts a wide spectrum of non-profit and for profit groups and is available for educational, religious, and governmental day and overnight programs, as well as both corporate and religious retreats.
A conference experience at Colombiere Conference Center will enhance and revitalize your team building, learning, problem solving, and strategic planning or spiritual and personal growth goals.
Overnight accommodations are available in dormitory style rooms for a maximum of 150 people depending on the use of the rooms as singles, doubles, triples. Colombiere has a number of conference rooms to suit the needs of various groups. A large, comfortable, beautifully decorated lobby greets guests. 15 conference rooms hold from 1 to 90 guests comfortably. An auditorium has theater style seating for 120, a full sound system and raised stage. Additional seating can be added for larger groups. A large chapel is always available for quiet meditation.

The Franciscan Life Process Center, 230 acres of woods and farmland, offers guests opportunities to reflect on seasonal cycles. Retreatants may wish to experience a given cycle through a guided project.

Private Retreats, lasting a day or more, provide time for quiet reflection and prayer, with the option to pray with the Franciscan Sisters of the Eucharist or join the Community for Tuesday and/or Thursday evening meals.

Directed Retreats offer the additional support of meeting daily with a Franciscan Guide who assists in the process of listening to God. The primary resource for reflection and meditation is Scripture.

Guests Are Welcome

We welcome guests whenever accommodations are available; the Guest Master will help with the necessary advance arrangements. The community welcomes guests who want to visit us for a time in order to share in our life of worship and recollection. We ask only that each guest be willing and able to help preserve the monastic environment. The normal length of a visit is from two days to one week.

Both St. Anthony's and St. Denys' guesthouses are located across the lawn from the monastery building. Generally, groups of five or more people stay in St. Denys' and prepare their own meals. Individual retreatants, or small, quiet groups of up to four stay at St. Anthony's and share the monks' own meals in the refectory.
Weekend retreats for groups can be scheduled from September through May. We ask that one member of the group be the retreat negotiator with the guestmaster and take responsibility for organizing the group that will be coming. The maximum number for a retreat is 10 people who can be placed in five rooms.

Saint Gregory's Abbey is the home of a community of men living under
the Rule of Saint Benedict within the Episcopal Church.
