Angels’ Rest Retreat & Conference Center offers a beautiful and intimate environment ideal for spiritual and corporate retreats, personal growth workshops, family gatherings and wellness vacations.
Located on 20+ acres of private woodlands and meadows in the Berkshire foothills of Western Massachusetts, the elevation of Angels' Rest offers breathtaking and far-reaching views of mountains to the east and south. With its pristine natural environment, comfortable quarters, and personal care, Angels' Rest creates a setting conducive for deep work, be it corporate goal setting, learning, or relaxation and healing.
Angels' Rest housing for retreat and conference guests is in three different structures, all near each other. The Retreat Center building has three bedrooms with 10 beds (2 doubles). The main house has five single beds in the "Poolside" Room, two singles and a double futon in the Balcony Bedroom, and a double futon in the "Sunrise " Room. The "Guest Barn" has four single beds. The guest quarters have 6 full- and 2 half-baths.
| We specialize in renting our entire facility to groups for their exclusive use. Angels' Rest is 2 hours west of Boston, MA and 1 1/2 hours north of Hartford, CT. |
Angels' Rest offers mostly shared accommodations with plenty of bathrooms, fireplaces in common areas, and a 1,400 sq. ft. meeting room with spectacular mountain views to the east and south, in the Berkshire foothills.
Guests enjoy refreshments in the "stone room" with a roaring fire adding to the peace and beauty of the mountain view. An outdoor deck looking over the pool and upper hot tub to the expansive vista is perfect for summertime breakfast.
Angels' Rest is dedicated to promoting conscious growth. It is our belief that supporting people while they teach, learn and grow is important work. Any gathering that deepens relationships,
clarifies thinking, defines goals, or facilitates healing is in line with our aims.
Also just plain enjoyment and laughter are part of our mission.

The Philosophy Foundation is an independent non-profit educational foundation, governed by an elected Board of Trustees, and staffed entirely by student volunteers. The Foundation was established in Boston in 1970 and incorporated in 1976. It has offered classes and weekend retreats to thousands of students in New England.
Groups meet regularly to study and practice Advaita Vedanta. These classes, led by tutors who are themselves experienced students of this tradition, are supplemented by practical exercises, retreats, and initiation into meditation.
Our students share an interest in the practical pursuit of truth, in good company, and in making this work available to all who are interested. Participation in the Philosophy Foundation's programs requires no prior knowledge of any philosophy and is open to people of all ages, races, faiths, and cultures.
The Philosophy Foundation’s home is Worcester House, an historic building located at 28 Worcester Lane, Waltham, Massachusetts. This is the site for most of our classes, meetings, lectures and musical events. It is conveniently located just off Route 128.
The Philosophy Foundation sponsors courses, workshops and groups. For a current list of planned activities, visit our web site schedule.
Following the Introductory Course, the Philosophy Foundation offers ongoing courses that provide the interested student a more comprehensive experience of Advaita Vedanta philosophy. At the end of the first year, interested students may be initiated into mantra meditation.
Additional activities are offered, including study days, meditation weekends and seminars, Sanskrit classes, weekend retreats, and a variety of special events. Special-interest study groups are also periodically formed in the arts, literature, and sciences, depending on student interests. The ultimate aim of all the Foundation's activities is that each student experience greater self understanding and fulfillment, with a correspondingly greater effectiveness, satisfaction, and ability to contribute in life.
