A home in a small, rural Indiana community dedicated to spiritual growth, physical rest, and mental challenge.

The John XXIII Retreat Center is owned and operated by the Catholic diocese of Lafayette-in-Indiana as an ecumenical adult retreat center. Its purpose is to build the Kingdom of God and proclaim the Good News to people of all faiths. The ministry of the Center is rooted in scripture, prayer, and community building which results in healing and forgiveness.

Facilities
John XXIII Retreat Center has a spacious floor plan that can accomodate groups of all sizes.

Bedrooms: 13 bedrooms which can sleep 35 adults comfortably, the largest one can accomodate over 8 adults.

Meetings areas: provide ample gathering and meeting areas where your group can meet and enjoy building community.

  • Shamrock Conference Room: large conference facility that can hold 50+ people.Great formal setting for all kinds of gatherings and can be set up in multiple configurations
  • Living Room: more relaxed meeting space for larger groups
  • Basement: This versatile space adjacent can be set up for conferences, video presentations, or can be a very informal gathering place with floor mats and sitting cushions.
  • Chapel
  • The gazebo is also right next to the Center's bonfire pit where groups can hold late night gatherings and cookouts.
  • The Prayer Labyrinth is based on the seven-path classical design.

Dining:

  • Kitchen: Our spacious, wood-paneled kitchen can accomodate groups of all sizes.
  • Dining Room: Beautiful wood-paneled dining room with capacity for seating 16 adults.
  • Sun Room: Relaxing and scenic dining room with the capacity for 20.

Kordes Center is located on the grounds of Monastery Immaculate Conception, home of the Sisters of St. Benedict. The official welcoming center for visitors, Providence Center has all the information you'll need to appreciate the beauty, history and spirituality of Saint Mary-of-the-Woods.

Conference Room, Dining and Museum

Built in 1990, Providence Center houses the Sisters of Providence heritage museum and The Gift Shop. Brochures and tour information are available in the center. A diorama display of the history of the Sisters of Providence and the Wall of Memories photo display are located in a hallway connecting Providence Center with the Church of the Immaculate Conception and the Blessed Sacrament Chapel. O'Shaughnessy Dining Room and a small conference room are also located at the center. Over night lodging and rooms are available.
