A unique retreat in the heart of Vermont.
Nestled in the Green Mountains in Northfield, Vermont, this historic former summer camp is the perfect place to gather friends, family or business associates for a retreat, workshop, special event, conference or reunion; or just a weekend getaway for a couple or family.
The Woods is only 3 hours from Boston, Montreal, Hartford or Albany and 5 minutes off the interstate.
The Woods at Wihakowi offers guests many different options for accommodations, ranging from tent sites nestled in the pine forest to camp-style bunkhouses, heated sleeping cabins and cottages.
- Guest Cottages:
All three of our guest cottages are year-round, neatly kept, and decorated with comfort in mind. Our guests tell us that they are charming and welcoming, with little touches that make them feel like home.If you are looking for a romantic getaway for two, a family vacation, or a unique and intimate space for a group retreat, wedding or event, you can choose from the great outdoors, to a rustic cabin, or an inviting cottage.
Each cottage has its own kitchen, bath and private deck.
The cottages have gas log stoves as well, for the ambience of a fire without the mess.
We have two heated cabins available year-round. The cabins do not have running water, but are winterized and otherwise are similar to the cottages, with cooking and refrigeration. They share the bathrooms in the Main Lodge.
We have several options available for various time of the year. All the bunkhouses use the bathrooms in our Main Lodge, located approximately 50 yards form the bunkhouses. During the Summer, for large groups, portable facilities may be provided.
The camping and recreation area is a picturesque and peaceful collection of fields and wooded areas on the east side of Bull Run Road. Tent platforms, grassy areas, open fields and tucked-away spots dot the landscape near the brook.
Dining: The Woods offers catering as well, both on-site and off-site within Central Vermont. The Main Lodge, with its fully equipped and licensed commercial kitchen, features a large dining room and common room that can accommodate anything from a private intimate dinner party to a celebration or event for up to 80 indoors (and more outdoors).
Activities: A short drive to many of Central Vermont's best attractions, ski areas, recreational activities and dining establishments, this secluded hideaway is just seconds from the VAST snowmobile trail system, and has its own 36-acres of meadows, hiking and snowshoeing trails, a brook, waterfall, swimming pool, tree house, outdoor amphitheater and stone-lined labyrinth path for plenty of year-round outdoor enjoyment and relaxation.
