A Lenten Journey into Bareness & Beauty
March 1 – April 13, 2017
Rev. Dr. Brenda K. Buckwell, Obl. OSB, Instructor
1.5 CEU’s Tuition: $25.00
This six-week Lent class will focus upon those who walked beside Jesus during his life with specific focus on characters he encountered during Holy Week. For every biblical companion on the Way of Jesus’ life and passion, participants will dive into the spiritual depths from the desert wisdom of the Abbas and Ammas. This personal faith enrichment class will provide participants with an opportunity to experience the life of Jesus and his passion in anticipation of his resurrection through Biblical storytelling, personal examination and creative prayer with the Jewish tradition of midrash, praying in color, labyrinth mediation, visio divina and photo pilgrimage.
We will “meet” together online each Thursday at 3:00 pm ET during Lent, via WebEx conferencing tool. Between the weekly online sessions, participants will walk with stellar Biblical characters and monastic abbas and ammas through the thrice weekly devotionals which invite you to plumb the depths of your inward and outward formation through Lent.
