Charming Historic Inn Built in 1745
Each room in the Captain William Bull Tavern is furnished in Hunt Country pine and decorated in a Colonial motif. This is a historic building that is on the National Register of Historic Places. It abounds in New England charm and character with its wide plank floorboards, hand hewn paneling, built-in corner cupboards, seven fireplaces and an idealized Colonial Ballroom. Three of the guest rooms have fireplaces.

The Restaurant
Captain William Bull Tavern - Built in 1745
Tollgate Hill Inn & Restaurant is listed in the National Register of Historic Places as the Captain William Bull Tavern. It has been welcoming visitors since 1745 when the main house became a popular way-station for travelers on the Hartford-Litchfield-Albany axis, a busy thoroughfare in colonial times.
It seats 80 altogether over three rooms. The upstairs ballroom seats about 40 and even has a "fiddlers loft" for musicians. There is a full commercial kitchen that was completely renovated in 2003, there is a wine cellar in the basement and another room with a full bar and table seating next to a fireplace.
