The Maria Haus is located in the heart of St. Nazianz in Manitowoc County, Wisconsin. Rich in German history, the Maria Haus has served the community since the 1800’s.
Maria Haus of today was known as St. Mary's Convent from the 1896 until 2001,originally operated by the Sisters of the Divine Savior. Historically, the site was operated as a self-sufficient community that ran a pig farm, raised crops, and tended large gardens, orchards and vineyards to provide sustenance for their lives of service in the orphanage and hospital.

Originally, St. Mary's Convent was two buildings: an orphanage and a hospital that were run by the Sisters for the early settlers to the area.The chapel was added to the orphanage in 1870. The buildings were united in the ‘'40s by installing a state of the art Otis elevator and additional stairways to link the two separate structures.
The building is approximatively 22,000sf. with a stucco/slate exterior and a composition roof.

The Maria Haus has most recently operated as a guest house, retreat/convention center. Operational licensing for food, beverages and hotel operation are obtainable by a new owner.
