Nestled in the rolling hills of north central Massachusetts in sight of metropolitan Boston, the former Ashby Academy is comprised of 14 buildings with over 34,809 square feet of living space and 6,404 square feet of maintenance and storage areas.
The 69 acre campus includes staff residences, dormitory style housing, administrative offices, academic classrooms, study and recreation areas, a cafeteria and a library.

The buildings are modern and bright; many have been newly built and designed to complement the recently updated historical structures. Large manicured grass fields surrounded by miles of woodland walking trails provide ample opportunity for outdoor activities. The property is the ideal place for a conference center, or many academic, medical, therapeutic or recreational uses.

69 Acres of Meadows & Woodlands
The campus borders several hundred acres of protected wilderness conservation land. The hiker has the advantage of miles of wilderness trails, many of which open onto scenic vistas of the Montachusett and Monadnock Valleys, with the summits of Mt. Monadnock, Mt. Wachusett, and Mt. Watatic in the distance. From the summit of Spring Hill, one can see the skyline of Boston, some 60 miles to the east, and the White Mountains to the north.

14 Beautifully Constructed Buildings
The gateway to the 14 building complex is the newly constructed Mayflower Hall, a large multi-level building which served as the primary education building. North of Mayflower Hall and up a wooded lane are the Poet's Lodges; three identical houses, attractively shingled in the New England tradition, ideal for living quarters or administration buildings. As you follow the path south, along the activities field, you will find a cluster of three identical, modern ranch houses; the Nina, Pinta, and Santa Maria Halls.
|
|
Continuing on the path, Pequod Hall is a beautifully renovated New England barn. From its expanse of windows can be seen the mountains and woodlands surrounding the campus. This building houses a full size commercial kitchen, dining hall, and library. Further east is found a large house which is the only building left of the original farm known as Spring Hill Farm, built in 1790. The grounds include large manicured grass fields, a basketball court, plenty of community areas to conduct groups and gatherings, and miles of walking trails.
