Provide visionary, creative, affective leadership to design an Events and Sales Department. Direct and build the daily operations of Lodging, Food Services and Events. Develop a dynamic and innovative environment in the Lodging and Food Services departments. Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university OR equivalent level training and experience in Hospitality or other related field of guest and customer service in retreat management.
Ten years experience in the full-service hotel or retreat management area.

Able to forecast and produce occupancy and food service reports on a daily and monthly basis. Excellent negotiation skills and ability to establish leads and make outside sales calls.
Demonstrated problem solving skills and effective decision making.
People and service oriented with the ability to influence others.
Organized with an eye for details and able to multi-task.
Excellent communication skills including strong presentation and platform skills
Working knowledge of MS office and reservation database systems.
Ability to travel locally up to 10% of scheduled time.

The mission of St. Joseph Institute is to “heal and to teach.” The Wellness Center combines Eastern and Western medicine to bring greater health and wellness to people suffering from a wide range of conditions, including chronic pain, migraine headaches, fibromyalgia, digestive disorders, stress and emotional crisis. The Institute’s teaching programs focus on healing, spiritual growth and the life skills necessary for healthy relationships. Three 1 year programs (State approved) train students in holistic healthcare, providing diplomas in bodywork and massage therapy, counseling skills and spiritual direction. Retreats are offered throughout the year on a variety of topics.
Geographic Areas of Service:
Guests and students come to the Institute from throughout the North Eastern United States as well as other areas.
Terms of Service:
3 month, 6 month and one year commitments, possible renewal for additional time periods. Trial visits can be arranged

SUMMARY
The Hospitality Manager will be responsible for all functions of the Center related to guest services. It is the Manager’s responsibility to see that all aspects of guest services be executed with competency, care, efficiency, and graciousness.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Schedule and confirm all groups that rent space at the Center for meetings and retreats. This includes room selection, overnight accommodations, meal planning, invoicing, and special needs and requests.
• Be available to meet new clients for facility tours and greet them when they arrive at the Center for their scheduled events.
• Troubleshoot issues that arise between the Center and expectations of the Client
• Coordinate menus and food pricing with the Manager of Food Services and/or designated staff
• Coordinate cleaning schedules and maintenance support with the Facilities Director and Green Clean.
• Be available to function as a center aide if needed.
• Overall responsibility for the 2nd and 3rd floor physical plantrepairs, furnishings, painting, lighting, heat/air-conditioning, AV equipment, ambiance, dishware, recycling, room arrangements, rearrangements and cleanliness. Create systems to facilitate the management of these responsibilities.
• Overall responsibility for the inventory/purchasing/replacement/maintenance of all center supplies, equipment and furnishings
• Develop in collaboration with the Executive Director, a hospitality budget and work within its limits.
• Provide and assists Clients with all AV needs while at the Center. Assure that all are in working order.
• Attend educational sessions around the Mission of River’s Edge.
• Overall responsibility for all signage necessary for client events.
• Supervise, schedule, evaluate, and assign tasks for the Office Assistant and Center Aides so that quality service is provided in a timely manner.
• Search out/cultivate new business, i.e., parishes, schools, hospitals, organizations,
• consistent with the values of the Center and in collaboration with the Marketing. Manager
• Organize orientation program for all groups who use the Center for the first time. (use of DVD)
• Be willing to do whatever is needed for the good running of the Center and continually look for ways to improve quality and efficiency of services.

EDUCATION:
Degree/Certificate in Hotel/Hospitality management or related field
Minimum of 2 years experience in Hotel/Hospitality Management or related field.

Silver Springs Mountain Retreat (www.mountainretreatcenter.com) has an opening for a carpenter/handyperson and possibly a second staff person (could be a couple.) Preference will be given to a person(s) who can come for the whole season, May 1st through Nov 10th, though this is not a requirement.
The primary work for the carpenter will be to construct a 16 by 20 one-story cabin (with labor available from others when needed) so he/she should be experienced in all phases of this work. Handyperson jobs are landscaping, painting, firewood, and general maintenance.
These positions are best seen as an opportunity to live and work in a meditative environment, in a beautiful natural setting with ample free time for personal interests such as spiritual practice, creative pursuits, yoga, hiking, crafts, and the like, rather than as a money-making situation.
Terms are negotiable. Accommodations offered are tent camps in a level secluded area of the forest, with the necessities for independent living.
