A bit of the Himalayas in the Blue Ridge Mountains
Set in the majestic Blue Ridge Mountains, the Center offers an experience of meditation and natural beauty coupled with comfortable lodging and facilities. The ICMWB covers 381 acres of forested mountains, with the main retreat facility set on the mountaintop.

The Center has a variety of 208 restful rooms overlooking the scenery of the Blue Ridge Mountains.

  • Zambezi Rooms: Located on the mountain ridge facing East, these rooms offer incredible views of the sunrise and mountains. Zambezi rooms feature more amenities, private bathrooms and queen and king beds. A limited number of rooms are available.
  • Hillside Rooms: Comfortable and simple, hillside rooms feature twin beds and private bathrooms. They are located along the Eastern mountain slope and are a great option for those who desire peaceful relaxation accompanied by the music of the mountains.


  • The main hall – Originally built as a hall for meditation, the main hall features stunning natural lighting and a spacious area of 18,500 square feet that can accommodate up to 3,000 participants. The space is ideal for conferences, workshops, musical and cultural performances and other events.
  • Hillside hall – The hall can comfortably hold up to 250. Includes two small break-out rooms, subtle lighting effects, and a spectacular wood-worked open ceiling.Located on a hillside even farther from the hustle and bustle of modern life than the rest of the center, the hillside hall is a perfect place for a retreat, workshop, conference, wedding or other event.
  • Four program rooms – 3,124 sq ft each
    Each of these halls can comfortably hold up to 200 people for meetings, workshops, seminars, talks, musical events and meditation retreats.
  • Yoga Hall: Getting on the Mat. This studio provides an ideal location for yoga seminars with its spacious floor plan, good ventilation and solid-panel floors.

Location: It is located just three miles from the scenic Blue Ridge Parkway and a short distance from Boone, North Carolina, home to Appalachian State University.
Dining: A 46,504 sq ft main dining hall with state-of-the-art kitchen and spectacular views, a small 7,192 sq ft hillside dining hall –
Guests are welcome to dine at our restaurant: The food is vegetarian, healthy, nutritious, balanced and delicious, and made substantially of organic fresh vegetables, fruits and grains.
Spa treatments available onsite.
Outdoors: Nature grows abundant on this mountain, so each outdoor walk gives a chance to experience the natural environment. The center is also home to many types of creatures, including deer and varieties of birds.The center has beautiful grounds for walking, amazing East-West architecture and provides an uplifting space to relax and recharge
Sightseeing: For those who want to get out for sight-seeing, the area offers many scenic vistas and recreational outings. Whether watching the views from Grandfather Mountain State Park in awe, hiking along a forest trail or paddling a canoe or a kayak, you’ll appreciate the natural charm of the Blue Ridge area.

Inns - Shepherd’s Inn and Pilgrim’s Inn are adorned in an elegant yet rustic style. All rooms include two queen beds. Shepherds' Inn has six suites that include a private porch and a fireplace. The grand lobbies of both inns include a complementary drink station and fireplace with casual seating to encourage fellowship.
Training Center - The hub of activity at The Cove, contains the warm, country-style dining room; the grand lobby with stone fireplace; the elegant, tiered auditorium with theater seating; the Graham memorabilia displays and library; The Cove Bookstore; and eight multifunctional classrooms.
Chapel - The Chatlos Memorial Chapel is tranquil and elegant. A must visit for every guest at The Cove. Several film and video projects have been filmed in this beautiful sanctuary, and many lives have been dedicated to Christ in the Chapel's intimate prayer loft
Trails - The extensive trail system offers a casual stroll or a rigorous hike. The trails meander through mountain forest and, for the physically fit, climb to a scenic point overlooking Asheville. The trails are interspersed with benches, wooden bridges, streams, and Scripture plaques to encourage meditative prayer and reflection

Lutheridge is nestled in the mountains of North Carolina near Asheville.
Welcome to the Lutheridge + Lutherock website. LLMI's mission is to provide programs, times and places apart where all people can experience a Christ-centered community and grow in relationship to God and God’s creation and be equipped for ministry.

Programs, both week long and weekend, are offered for youth, adults, families, men, women, and senior adults. These programs are offered on a year round basis to accomplish our mission.

Built on 160 acres in Arden, NC (just south of Asheville), this camp and conference center features a variety of camping opportunities from cabins and cottages to motel-type facilities. Other on-site facilities include a dining hall, swimming pool, small lake, campground, playgrounds, 41-foot Challenge Tower, low ropes course, game/playing fields, basketball courts, activity/craft lodges and walking trails.

The GIC - The Group Interaction Course will really bring your group closer together. Work together with your group to accomplish cooperative goals.
There are many recreational opportunities close by as well, including the Pisgah National Forest and the French Broad River.
The Challenge Tower - Let a Lutheridge staff member lead your group on the 41foot Alpine Challenge Tower, which will push your group to the limit. Find out what your team is made of while also enjoying the rush you get after finishing this awesome challenge.

The Durham Arts Council building is home to the Durham Arts Council, Inc. and several other local arts organizations. Originally constructed in 1906, the three-story 52,000+ square foot building was renovated in 1988 adding much needed structural and facility enhancements.

Now offering 3 galleries, 2 theatres with support spaces, meeting rooms, offices, rehearsal spaces and studios for digital arts, dance, photography, clay, fiber arts, visual arts and children’s art. The Durham Arts Council building is part of the City of Durham Historic District and the Historic Preservation Society of Durham.

The Durham Arts Council offers a truly unique setting centrally located in historic downtown Durham for all occasions from wedding receptions to business meetings, banquets to seminars, parties to performances and much more. Lake Logan Episcopal Center lends itself well to spiritual retreats, business conferences, seminars, and family reunions. All religious and nondenominational groups are welcome to this special place, where the power of nature’s bounty nourishes, restores, and rejuvenates.

Group Visits

In addition to accommodations and dining, we offer year-round meeting space for religious, non-profit, and corporate groups, including break-out areas.

Celebration Hall will accommodate groups of up to 160, and The Lodge up to 60. Bishop Johnson Dining Hall can serve up to 250 guests. We are flexible and can tailor our services to your group’s specific needs. Most meeting areas feature wireless connectivity.

Lake Logan’s program experts organize terrific group team building activities using our state-of-the-art Alpine Tower Ropes Course. We also offer guided nature excursions on wooded trails, through grassy fields, and along the riverside. Topics range from managing eco- systems to birding and wildflower identification.


We offer a variety of cabins and cottages. Architecture and furnishings are in keeping with the natural setting. All accommodations have coffee service, clocks, and telephones. Many have microwaves and refrigerators, and some have full kitchens.

Contemporary Cottages - Our comfortable Lakeside Cabins include lake-view decks and fireplaces. The Retreat House, with a full kitchen, is ideal for small groups up to 14.

Historic Cabins - Six rustic, cozy cabins comprise Sit ‘n Whittle, a renovated log cabin village with lake views. Bishop Weinhauer Dorm houses 48, and is often used for youth groups.Two additional cabins with bunk beds are available May-October. Our Eastside Cabins, near the Dining Hall and Lodge, are white clapboard with spacious porches.

Bishop Johnson Dining Hall, fully equipped for groups and individuals, is the newest building at Lake Logan Episcopal Center. Delicious meals are served buffet style in this stone and cedar lodge overlooking the river.
We offer as much, or as little, activity as you desire. It is as much a place for contemplative walks along pristine trails, as it is for invigorating field games. Our resident naturalist organizes horticultural programs and wildlife walks seasonally. Visitors also enjoy canoeing, swimming, volleyball, frisbee golf, lake and fly-fishing, and tennis. Five scenic golf courses are within 30 minutes driving distance.
While Lake Logan feels remote, other area attractions and shopping are nearby, including Biltmore Estate, Pisgah National Forest, and the Great Smoky Mountain Railroad. Lake Logan is located near the towns of Waynesville, Asheville, Canton, and Brevard.
ALPINE TOWER ROPES COURSE - Looking for a place to do teambuilding? Lake Logan Episcopal Center is the place to come. Our ropes course is all about teambuilding, learning to trust, working with others, trying and doing new things, pushing past your normal limits, learning “yes, I can”, and of course having some fun.
