Marsh House

at Aldermarsh

6436 Maxwelton Road
Whidbey Island
Clinton, WA 98236

360.579.7774

email@marshhouse.com

Joy Moulton acquired the Marsh House land, Aldermarsh, in 1984. Drawn to the Whidbey Island community surrounding the Whidbey Institute, with its mission of bringing Earth and Spirit together, Joy made her home in the Maxwelton Valley. Aldermarsh embraces evolution and is in constant change. Change is the only constant; perhaps an overused phrase, yet here at Aldermarsh we are experimenting with this constancy in our inextricable unity with All That Is.
The teachings of the retreats that come here linger in their influence of the evolution of this environment. Groups/individuals come and create an energy that continues to feed this community for the future. We steward over 11 acres of beautiful wetlands laced with walkways and teaming with wildlife. One guest writes – This facility is amazing.
Aldermarsh has a gathering place called The Marsh House. This building is over 1000 square feet that can accommodate meetings, circles, movement, yoga, and meditation. We can sleep up to 25 people.

Holden Village is a year-round ecumenical Christian renewal center, rooted in the Lutheran tradition. Once the site of one of the largest copper mines in the United States, Holden is nestled in the enchanting beauty of the Cascade Mountains near Chelan, Washington. Each year it attracts over 7,000 people, of all ages, for renewal through worship, study, work, recreation, celebration and conversation. We have many ways to volunteer as well as be a guest.
Most guests come for the summer program which runs from the first Monday in June through the third Saturday in September. Bible studies and conversations on Christian faith, science, the arts, as well as social justice and global concerns offer a range of learning opportunities. Child care and activities for children and youth are also available Monday through Friday.
Daily worship sets the rhythm of life in the Village. Crafts classes, concerts, forums, special events and Holden hilarity further stimulate creativity and celebration. Located in a beautiful valley on the edge of Glacier Peak Wilderness Area, Holden offers countless opportunities for scenic mountain hiking and alpine lake fishing.
You may download a Registration Form from our web site. However, your completed registration form needs to be mailed via U.S. Postal Service to: Holden Village, HC00 Stop 2, Chelan, WA 98816-9769 (Holden has no telephone service; we are unable to receive e-mail). You should include a deposit for the first night’s lodging for each person.
