I used findthedivine.com as well as the Christian Camp and Conference Association, http://www.ccca.org as well as the American Camps Association, http://www.acacamps.org to create a state by state listing of camp and conference centers for my book, The Complete Leader’s Guide to Christian Retreats (Judson Press, 2008) which is a user-friendly, how-to guide on retreat planning that just officially released.

Check out OjaiSoulArts.com for many great retreat opportunities with a spiritualist named Ronda LaRue. I have attended 2 retreats, one alone and the other a Midlife Call with 11 other women. Amazing is the only way to describe OjaiSoulArts and Ronda.

Great to see the new retreat blog. Will subscribe to your feed and keep abreast of happenings in the retreat world. On that note anyone wishing to retreat to CA or AZ for a great start to the new year contact us. We continue to offer personal healing retreats year round in Sedona, Arizona and will be offering rejuvenation retreats and corporate retreats in Feb, and March. A new retreat of interest is our women’s support retreat focused on the principals of Eat, Pray, Love at Warner Springs in March and then in Arizona in May.

Pacem in Terris in St. Francis, MN is a great place to go for a personal silent retreat. They have wonderful little ‘Hermitages’ that are located in the woods. The Hermitages are equipped with a single bed, a table, and a rocking chair that sits in front of a large picture window that faces the woods. A basket with bread, cheese and fruit is brought to your Hermitage each day as well as drinking water. You may go to the ‘main house’ for evening meals and join the family who owns the retreat and other guests. The lower level of the ‘main house’ has an exercise room, roll in showers and a library with reclining chairs and you can enter it without going in the upstairs. A path through a meadow leads to a lake with a dock. Very nice!!!!

The Franciscan Renewal Center provides one of the best Holy Week experiences in the Country.
I highly recommend it.

Also, they have great summer time rates for non profit groups.

St John’s Abbey:
I spent 10 days in Collegeville, MN, in September,
6 days at the Episcopal House of Prayer, retreat center, whose Executive Director is Ward Bauman; he provided wonderful hospitality and was the abbot of the Benedictine Experience we participated in. The final 4 days we moved to the new (!!) Abbey GuestHouse, opened 12/06. It has wonderful accommodations for singles, couples and groups in suites. We entered into the community prayers 4 times a day. Exquisite time!
