Katherine Krause makes her home in the Kansas City area. She is a wife, mother, and freelance communications consultant working with a variety of businesses, non-profits and religious organizations. Her poetry and curriculum writings have been published internationally.
Following career experiences in corporate communications for Fortune 100 companies and several years in vocational ministry at Willow Creek Community Church, Katherine utilized the gifts of available time and space to pursue personal growth and intentional development in the discipline of spiritual direction. Through an accredited, Masters-level spiritual direction program, Katherine gained advanced, ecumenical training in the ways that theology and human development interact.
She regularly participates in continuing education, peer supervision, and personal spiritual direction to support and grow in her calling. She is a member of Spiritual Directors International, a professional organization for spiritual directors.
While Christian in theological orientation, Katherine holds a deep appreciation for many, diverse spiritual traditions. She is currently an active member of an independent community church and is also engaged in a contemplative life of prayer as a Benedictine Oblate of Mount St. Scholastica monastery in Atchison, Kansas.
Katherine’s special interests as a director and retreat facilitator include: contemplative spiritual practices, spirituality of the body, spiritual components of addiction/abuse recovery, and workplace spirituality.
