For more than a decade, I have been developing leaders. Whether you are a leader in your own life or for an organization, I help you make a greater contribution by realizing what matters most to you and aligning that with your daily life and work. As a professional coach and organizational consultant, I am trained to successfully support, challenge and guide you to identify and express your highest good. Together we will deeply examine your life questions; articulate your vision and clarify the contribution you want to make. You can then live from the beliefs that support your true reality, align with your authentic self and daily make conscious choices.
I will ask questions you haven't considered. I will definitely challenge you to focus within, expand your perspective and tap into the inner wisdom you already possess. I will suggest options for change, encourage you to act in accordance with your values and be present for you if you falter.
As your companion in this process, I promise to be consistently present for you, give you honest feedback and offer that dose of confidence and appreciation when you need it most.
I believe there is nothing more vital than discovering the unique purpose of your life and finding satisfying ways to integrate that purpose into everyday living. From my own personal work, I know the power of change comes from within.
I bring over twenty-five years of experience to my coaching.
I am certified by the International Coach Federation and served on the faculty of Newfield Network, an accredited coaching school. Throughout my career, I have developed a number of professional tools, such as Awakening Purpose and Vision, to assist my clients. As I work with you, I will provide various forms of support, tailored to your needs.

The ministry of spiritual direction or companionship has a long history in various religious traditions. It is a practice that honors each person's inner journey. In the early Celtic tradition, a person who acted as a teacher, companion or spiritual guide was called anam cara. Anam is the Gaelic word for soul and cara is the word for friend. Thus a "soul friend" is someone with whom you can share your soul's gentle stirrings and deepest longings.
As a spiritual companion, Kathy Spaar creates a sacred space and time that welcomes you to slow down, rest and be still. Her role is to provide a quiet presence throughout your retreat time and to be a soulful listener. Kathy is familiar with a variety of spiritual disciplines and can draw upon these experiences to help you discern what practices are meaningful for your individual journey
Kathy Spaar is a long-time educator in spiritual practices and environmental studies. She has developed a variety of programs and workshops that nurture people's spiritual lives with contemplative practices and rituals as well as creative experiences in nature.
She has received spiritual formation training at the Shalem Institute for Spiritual Formation and the Washington National Cathedral Center for Prayer and Pilgrimage. She studied for many years with Frederic Lionel, a master teacher of the Western Mystery Tradition as well as with Tom Brown, well-known tracker and teacher of Native American practices and spiritual traditions. Recently she completed the Spiritual Midwife Project training under the guidance of nationally-acclaimed author, Sue Monk Kidd.
