MaryEllen O'Brien is a retreat leader, spiritual coach, writer, broadcaster and media arts producer based in Chicago. She is also a veteran radio broadcaster and is active in multi-media productions. Currently writing her doctoral dissertation in theology at Loyola University Chicago, she holds an M.A. in Theology/Liturgy from Catholic Theological Union in Chicago, and a B.A. in Religious Studies from St. Michael's College in Vermont. She is an adjunct faculty member at Loyola University Chicago and has taught at Lewis University, a Christian Brothers school near Chicago.
MaryEllen presents topics ranging from Celtic Spirituality to the Ars Moriendi, or "art of holy dying," and it's companion, the "art of holy living." Faith and the arts, sacramental & liturgical topics, prayer, and 12-step retreats are among her repertoire. Topics are customized for the group. Workshops, retreats, parish missions, and conference speaking are offered. She has spoken for groups and conferences nationally, locally (Chicago), and in Canada.
