MaryEllen O'Brien is a retreat leader, spiritual teacher, writer, and veteran radio personality. She currently writing the spiritual and musical autobiography of jazz legend Eddie Benitez as well as working on her doctoral dissertation in theology at Loyola University Chicago. MaryEllen has an M.A. in Theology from Catholic Theological Union in Chicago, and a B.A. in Religious Studies from St. Michael's College in Vermont. She has taught as an adjunct faculty member at Loyola University Chicago and at Lewis University, a Christian Brothers school near Chicago.
 MaryEllen now gives retreats on Conversations with Angels - Angels Among Us and Their Teachings. MaryEllen is trained in Energy Healing and Clairvoyance and incorporates these insights into her retreats, including teaching Meditation and Grounding to Foster Intuitive Living and Self Healing. Other retreat topics include Spiritual Peace, Creativity, Celtic Spirituality and even "The Art of Holy Dying," the topic of her book, Living Well & Dying Well. An audio book published in Summer 2008 presents the classic from Esther de Wall, The Celtic Way of Prayer, in a beautiful oral interpretation performed by MaryEllen. The centuries-old poetic tradition comes alive with MaryEllen's sensuous and evocative reading in this 10-CD rendition. Spirituality and the arts is also a favorite theme. Topics can be customized for the group. She has spoken for groups and conferences in the U.S. and Canada.

As a spiritual director, Teresa works with individuals and groups to assist them in discovering God’s purpose and desire in their lives. She has worked as a staff spiritual director for SFTS’s Youth Ministry and Spirituality Project, a Lilly foundation project designed to revitalize youth ministry through the education and practice of Christian spiritual disciplines.
She is a frequent lecturer on topics of media and spirituality. She has taught a class on "religion and media" at San Francisco Theological Seminary, where she graduated with a Master of Divinity and Diploma in the Art of Spiritual Direction in 2000.
