Yokoji Retreat Center is an eco-friendly environment located in the heart of the San Jacinto Mountains, Southern California
Yokoji Retreat Center is the picture of tranquility, set in a remote mountain valley, far away from all the stresses and strains of urban living. Yoga, Tai Chi, leadership, relaxation and spiritual retreats have all been successfully held on our grounds in the past years. The rugged beauty of our environment is perfect for those seeking peace, to reconnect with nature; for those seeking solitude and also those looking to bond over a shared experience.
|
|
The Center is set up on ecological principals. Our power is harnessed from the sun and the wind and our water is drawn from an on-site well. The food we serve is 100% vegetarian, and largely organic.

Facilities
At Yokoji Retreat Center we provide your group with a spacious hall for indoor activities. The room is a purpose built meditation hall, and lends itself to Yoga, Tai Chi and other activities requiring a space for people to meet and move around.
For conference purposes, we can provide a limited number of chairs and tables, and you are welcome to bring equipment to fit your specific needs. |

Dining Facilities
All the food served at Yokoji Retreat Center is vegetarian. We use fresh, and often local and organic ingredients to create our simple, yet nutritious and delicious menus. A balance of vegetables, grains and proteins (such as beans, lentils, tofu, tempeh, seitan, nuts, seeds, dairy and eggs) support our community year round. From steaming hot whole grain, bean and vegetable soups in the winter, to cool and refreshing salads and fruits from our orchards in the summer months - the seasons dictate how our food is prepared and served. |

| We have a dining hall which is kept warm in the winter months with a wood-burning furnace, and picnic tables outside for the warmer months. We also maintain a supply of coffee and hot water for tea from early in the morning until supper time. |

Activities:
We offer optional meditation instruction, free of charge, for any group that is interested. This can be as small or large a part of your schedule as you wish.
Our valley has a trail that goes up to the saddle of the northerly mountains and on to the Pacific Crest Trail. The PCT is a massive, winding trail that leads from the Mexican border up to Canada. Our section of it has many entry and exit points, and even the hike up to the saddle can be exhausting but rewarding. The hike affords beautiful views back on to our valley, as well as Coachella valley on the other side, where Palm Desert, Palm Springs and the other desert cities are sheltered by the San Jacinto and the Little San Bernardino mountains.
